Adenofrin side effects and contraindications
Adenofrin is a health supplement for adult men aged 18 and above, taken as 2 capsules a day. It should not be used by anyone allergic to its plant extracts, and it needs a doctor’s clearance in case of blood-thinning treatment, hormone therapy or an active urological diagnosis.
Who should not take Adenofrin
- Anyone under 18 years of age
- Women: the formula is built for the adult male body
- People allergic to saw palmetto, nettle, pumpkin seed or tomato
- Anyone on blood thinners or antiplatelet treatment, unless the doctor allows it
- Anyone on hormone therapy, unless the doctor allows it
- Anyone under active treatment for a urological diagnosis, without asking the treating specialist first
Interactions worth checking
Saw palmetto can interfere with hormone therapy through its action on androgen metabolism. In that situation the decision to take the supplement belongs to your doctor.
Zinc at 10 mg a day poses no issue for a healthy adult, but if you already take a multivitamin, add the two figures so the intake is not doubled.
With blood thinners or antiplatelet medicines, any supplement carrying plant extracts goes through a consultation before it is started.
What can show up in the first days
The most common thing, when anything shows up at all, is mild digestive discomfort in the first doses. It usually settles once the capsule is taken in the middle of the meal instead of at the start.
If a rash, itching or swelling appears, stop the course: it can be a reaction to one of the plant extracts.
Adenofrin causes no drowsiness and does not affect driving. It carries no caffeine and no stimulant.
Storage
Keep the original carton in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and below 25 °C. Indian summers matter here: a parked car or a sunlit window sill is not storage.
Keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not use the product after the expiry date printed on the carton.
Questions about safety
Does Adenofrin have side effects?
In a healthy adult the most frequent one, when it appears at all, is mild digestive discomfort in the first doses, which usually settles if the capsule is taken in the middle of a meal. Stop the course if a rash or itching appears.
Can I take it with blood thinners?
Not without asking your doctor first. Any supplement with plant extracts has to be reviewed in that context before the course starts.
Can women take it?
No. The formula is designed for the adult male body, with actives aimed at the prostate and at testosterone levels.
Is it safe with alcohol?
There is no known incompatibility, but alcohol worsens the urinary symptoms the product accompanies. Cut it down over the 10 days of the course.
